Just a bit over a month before the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 officially opens, one of the World Cup venues has been criticized for its failure to address various issues during an official test FIFA 14 Ultimate Team PC Coins, Brazilian media reported.
The Arena da Amazonia, a football stadium in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, was criticized for a series of issues and problems encountered during the holding of the Copa do Brasil (Brazil Cup) match between Corinthians and Nacional early this week.
Copa do Brazil is a football competition played by 86 teams that represent all the Brazilian states.
The Copa do Brasil match served as an official test, a sort of a dry-run, to check the preparedness of Arena da Amazonia in holding matches of the 2014 FIFA World Cup that will kick off on 12 June.
Based on a report published by Brazil’s O Globo newspaper, fans complained after experiencing inconvenience in entering the stadium, in addition to the heavy traffic leading to the venue.
Spectators and arena officials also engaged in verbal tussles because seat numbers were no longer followed and some ticket holders were no longer following the number system.
Several fans also missed the first few minutes of the match because of the long queues leading to the venue and the traffic outside, which was described by the local newspaper as “very chaotic”.
“If it was chaotic during the Copa do Brazil, it will surely be a pandemonium during the World Cup,” One of the spectators, who turned to the social media to express his frustrations during the Copa do Brasil match, said.
The Arena da Amazona, which is an all-seater capacity of 46,000, will host four World Cup matches, including the England-Italy Group D match on 14 June.
Aside from the said arena, World Cup matches will also be played in 12 Brazilian cities. However, three of the venues have not officially opened yet.
The FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 will be held from 12 June to 13 July.
